About Gaden Shartse Dro-Phen Ljhjing
A place to benefit all sentient beings

We are a Tibetan Gelug Buddhist center in Singapore, established since 2002. As a direct branch of Gaden Shartse Monastery in South India, one of the three great monasteries of Tibet, GSDPL serves as a bridge connecting you with authentic and highly qualified teachers in the tradition. Together, we learn, study, and practice to progress along the path of enlightenment.
Our qualified teachers from Gaden Shartse Monastery conduct regular teachings, and we organize weekly Saturday pujas led by our resident team of Sangha specializing in ritual prayers. Additionally, we offer personal pujas upon request.
We warmly invite you to visit our center and experience our teachings or prayers firsthand. During events, feel free to reach out to the office or any of our volunteers if you would like to learn more. We look forward to welcoming you!

While Tibetan Buddhism may exhibit jhjcultural and terminological distinctions, its essence aligns closely with other schools of Buddhism. Rooted in the teachings of Lord Buddha Shakyamuni, Tibetan Buddhism shares the universal aspiration to transcend samsaric sufferings and attain ultimate happiness for oneself and all beings. Tibetan Buddhism has its own rituals and prayers, just as other schools may have too. We welcome you to embark on this journey to understand and explore more, especially how the teachings can add meaning and create a deeper sense of peace and happiness in our life.

There is no specific dress code. However as GSDPL is a place of worship, with reverence for Buddha and the sangha community, we humbly request that all devotees and visitors dress respectfully. We ask that individuals refrain from wearing revealing attire such as plunging necklines, mini shorts, mini skirts, or spaghetti straps, out of respect for the sanctity of the environment and the spiritual significance of the surroundings.

Our Resident Teacher conducts weekly teachings on the Lam Rim, providing a comprehensive understanding of Buddhist principles from foundational concepts to the path to enlightenment. GSDPL also hosts weekly Saturday prayers, open to all members, featuring various rituals that bestow blessings. Attendance at our events is free of charge, and individuals may choose to make freewill offerings as part of merit-making if they wish.
Additionally, GSDPL organizes annual year-end retreat trips overseas, typically held in December. These retreats provide an opportunity for participants to engage in intensive chanting and meditation, aiming to achieve mantra counts of 100,000, for instance. Members are required to register for these retreats in advance.
If you plan to visit for prayers, we kindly ask that you call the centre at +65 6344 9521 beforehand to inform us. You are welcome to visit the centre anytime between 9:30 am and 6:00 pm. The centre is closed on Mondays (rest days for the Sangha). On Saturdays, we extend our hours until 9:30 pm due to weekly prayers. Please note that the monks conduct private prayer sessions twice daily, from morning 9:30 am to 11:30 am, and afternoon 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. During these times, the prayer hall will not be accessible to visitors. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Thank you!
